The quote of the year this year is “turn your obstacles into opportunities.” It’s important to do this so we train our competitive brains to look for the small victories and to give ourselves credit when it might be easier to beat ourselves up. This is what champions learn to do, they learn to enjoy the journey, not just the destination.

Take a little time when you’re headed to the next show to reflect and share. What obstacles have you overcome so far this year? What obstacles are you working on?

You might also ask yourself, Are you creating a habit of looking for the opportunities in every obstacle? Or, are you creating habits of throwing your sucker in the dirt and feeling sorry for yourself every time things don’t go well?
